We  have been working with a new designer to update the look/ feel/ user interaction with the LUMI mask. It is an exciting time for our product, as we start to fine tune things with the feedback we have gotten from many first run users. Our designer has been working with us to improve the design and aesthetics side of things. The result is a tighter, sleeker looking mask, that doesn’t compromise comfort. We have also repositioned our buttons to be easier to reach and prevent jamming any buttons while rolling around out nigh. Our electronics engineer has been working to resolve a few designs by improving our circuit maps, and updating our user interface.

Our fabric materials our also going through a bit of an update as well. As we move forward in the following months, we hope to implement the following updates: improving user interaction with the product (real world analysis has taught us a lot of things we never would have thought of), reworking the clock programming for the alarm, improving button design, simplifying wire diagrams, integrating a structural piece to secure the pcb and secure the wires, implementing an enclosure for the pcb, upgrading our speaker and relocating it, resolving some minor battery issues and trying to get it smaller, and improving our overall materials.

We want our product to live up to our longevity standards, and are working hand in hand with some manufactures to insure this.

We have been working lately on improving the electronics in our mask. There have been a lot of amazing options that we have been considering. Part of our team has been part of a project that has worked with a LED fabric technology that we are looking to implement. We feel like this would be a great option to include as our light source. This technology would provide great diffusion of light over the full cavity area, which we are very excited about.

Our electronic engineer that we have been working with has improved on the design of our PCB and electronics to help improve battery life management and rewiring of all our circuits. Also, we are implementing improved solder points on our PDB board to help with product longevity We are looking to have the wires contained, so they will not be tampered with if the mask gets bent. Improved battery life is a huge aspect that we have considered from day one with this project, and feel it will be a great feature that our customers will enjoy.

We have also been looking at adding new technologies to our line of items, including binaural beats capabilities. Binaural beats are a well studied scientific area that corresponds to brain waves that we experience. The direct application of this technology would be used to help the user fall asleep quicker (think deep monk meditation and calmness before falling asleep), and help with waking up (energized beta waves will help you wake up feeling charged and ready to conquer the day).

We are racing towards implementing these ideas into our current and future models. Stay updated as we share more news with our development.

LUMI is a sleep mask that simulates sunrise. The idea came from combining two familiar sleep prod- ucts, sleep masks and sunrise clocks, that cannot be used in tandem.

LUMI is more than just getting great sleep; LUMI provides you with more attention. And we believe, when you have more attention you can focus on doing more of the things that are important to you.

LUMI is as simple as dialing in your wake-up time on the alarm controller. Put LUMI on, and fall asleep. Then, in the morning, 30 minutes before your wake up time, LUMI’s soft light gradually grows brighter. If your alarm is at 7 am, the light will gradually brighten beginning at 6:30. An au- dible alarm sounds at the end of the sunrise sequence, letting you know it’s time to start the day.

LUMI is molded from soft neoprene foam, forming an eye cavity to allow for normal blinking and circulation. An adjustable strap allows you to comfortably adjust the mask to fit your face. LUMI’s lightweight design comfortably conforms to your face and the interior is made from soft satin fabric.

LED substrate is sewn into the inside of the mask, providing a soft light source for the sunrise se- quence. An alarm controller allows you to set your wake time and the light intensity.
